Teaching

Research has shown that there is a significant drop in recidivism depending on an inmate’s level of education. We encourage men and women to participate in classes and help improve their basic reading, writing and comprehension skills.

Mentoring

The mentor is an invaluable asset in the process of presenting the Gospel, among other things, because they can gather information about the person being mentored and assist them to better understand their problems and the scriptural principles which provide solutions.

Get Involved

There are many ways to getting involved, from becoming a mentor and participating in Bible studies to office administration and outreach. If you are interested in any sort of involvement, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Core Services

Life Abundant, Inc. offers a diversity of services for those incarcerated and recently released.  Several supportive services are also available to families and others negatively impacted by incarceration.

Staff members and volunteers facilitate both Bible studies and Chapel Services at the Bucks County Correctional Facility and at the Bucks County Community Corrections (aka work release).  Bible studies are led by a teacher(s) throughout the week on designated days.  Staff members and volunteers may also mentor men and women inmates at either of the facilities and once an inmate is released.

Life Abundant assists released men and women in the following areas:

  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Transportation
  • Mentoring
  • Referrals
  • Church assimilation
  • Continuing discipleship

For many years, the ministry of Life Abundant has utilized a Direct Aid Fund to help individual inmates, ex-offenders, and their families with financial needs.  Because of incarceration, most inmates and ex-offenders have lost their apartments or homes and must “start over” after being released from jail.  Many variables are considered for those who apply and resources are distributed only after each request has been thoroughly vetted.

“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them and them which suffer adversity as being yourselves also in the body.”
– Hebrews 13:3

Staff members and affiliates are available to speak to congregations, community organizations and business leaders regarding the correctional system, faith-based approaches and evidence-based strategies.

Alumni Updates

Kaitlin has finished a graduate degree program and is slated to finish a second in 2019. Kaitlin remains active at her local church and serves on the Board of Directors for Life Abundant, Inc.

Once Morris was released, he was embraced by his wife and family and his newly found church family. He continues to attend his home church and assist the ministry whenever possible to this day.

"God's grace has been evident in my past, but it is also so very apparent in my present life. God has called me to the worship ministry at my church and the fact that He chose to use me still confounds me."

Kind Words

“Government cannot meet the deep needs of the hearts of incarcerated men and women, only the Gospel can. Life Abundant, Inc. is a ministry that is able to share the Gospel, and we need more of that because these men and women are in need of the love of Jesus Christ.”

Robert G. Loughery
Bucks County Commissioner

Life Abundant is a ministry that has proven that it cares for those who are incarcerated.
In 1 Cor. 16:9 the apostle Paul stated, that ‘a great and effective door has opened to him.’
I appreciate the opportunity to serve with Life Abundant to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with lost men and women.
